Description

The illuminating star for this interesting DSO originates to the area of Orion's Belt. About 3 million years ago, this star came into close proximity with one another in the Great Orion Nebula, and both were ejected from the Orion complex.

AE Auriga has become a notable star indeed and now is moving through a region of gas and dust that underpins this nebula.

Unguided, 2 hours integration, no filters, small triplet, thanks for looking.

Description: This frame is the original stacks and first stretch in APP. Its very busy with stars, which is nice, and one may see more nebulosity in adjacent regions to the main show.

Description: I tried to tone down the stars a little, and increased the vibrance a bit after confirming my star colours were reasonable. I may need to learn Pixinsight, gain access to standard indexed star colours. 🙂
